Condition & Service History

The car has been almost fully restored. It is 100% original, no modifications whatsoever. All parts used are OEM. Here’s what has been done over the last few years (during which I’ve covered less than 1000km – I haven’t really driven it much):

  • Full repaint in the original Calypsorot color. This was done due to scrapes, NOT a wreck and NOT because of rust (I have pics before the repaint). All pictures above are from before the repaint.
  • Ignition/electrical system: new spark plugs, distributor caps & rotors, coils (wires were replaced by prev. owner), alternator rebuilt, incl. new voltage regulator
  • Crankshaft position sensors
  • Cooling system: new radiator, all hoses, water pump, thermostat, expansion tank w/ cap, valley pan gasket, valley pan pipes & seals, temp sensors, coolant flushed
  • Valve stem seals, valve cover gaskets, throttle body boots, gaskets, all vacuum hoses, VCV/PCV valves/hoses/grommets, etc.
  • Hydraulic (steering & braking) system: new brake pressure accumulator (“brake bomb”), hydraulic hoses, reservoir filter/gasket, CHF11S flushed, new brake hoses, brake fluid flushed
  • Heater & A/C (HVAC) system fully rebuilt: new heater core, hoses, heater control valves rebuilt, heater servo motors tested & replaced, new foam insulation, new A/C drier, A/C seals, A/C converted to R134a w/ original parts
  • Belt drive: all new belts, tensioners, pulleys
  • Fuel hoses in engine bay (every single one replaced)
  • Oil pan gasket
  • Exhaust: new original right muffler, “new” used original catalytic converters from a low-mileage car, various brackets & hangers
  • OBC repaired, all pixels and buttons work
  • New gear shifter bushings, clips, boot, etc.
  • Various interior/exterior trim pieces replaced (whatever was missing or worn/damaged), incl. a brand-new original shift knob w/ boot, jack pads, grilles, door handle gaskets, emblems
  • New original floor mats from BMW
  • Windshield washer level sensor & grommets; transfer system from trunk tank works fine
  • Original Style-9 16×8 wheels refurbished
  • Suspension: new EDC shocks & some control arms & bushings replaced by previous owner
  • Engine compression was checked and is good and even in all 12 cylinders
  • I have receipts/invoices for all of the above!

Ownership History & Documents

The car is a Euro-spec 850i sold new in Belgium in 1992 (build date: 31/01/1992). To the best of my knowledge, it has spent its whole life in Belgium and around the French-Belgian border, where winters are mild and there’s rarely any snow/salt on the roads. It appears to have been garaged and there’s no rust. It was last registered for regular use in 2016 in Tourcoing, France (on the border with Belgium) with a temporary registration; the permanent registration papers are from Belgium. I bought it in 2020 from the owner in Tourcoing in running/driving condition, transported it to Bulgaria and started restoring it (see list of maintenance/repairs above). The car can be registered in any country, all documentation is present.

VIN: CB14220

Current mileage: 219 700 km

Current location: Sofia, Bulgaria. Transportation options are available – would cost around €1000 to most places in Europe… although the best option is probably to just pick it up in person and drive it home! I don’t foresee any issues with driving this car thousands of kilometers to get it to your location. Road trip time!

Price: €32000
